Foundations of Our Faith
Creed, Philosophy and Covenant of House of God Saints in Christ
Our Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; which was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate. was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into Hell: He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. 1 believe in the Holy Ghost, The House Of God Saints In Christ: the communion of Saints; the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting, Amen
Our Philosophy
- We believe that the Bible is the Holy Word of God and we hold the Holy Word of God to be the only authority in all spiritual matters.
- We believe in God, the Father Almighty the Creator of all things. The Old Testament reveals God in diverse manner and the New Testament gives us knowledge of God as the First Person in the Godhead.
- We believe thar Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the Second Person in the Godhead.
- We believe the Holy Ghost to be the Third Person in the Godhead.
- We believe also that the members of The House Of God Saints in Christ, Inc. should be baptized with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire, and have the evidence which is speaking with other tongues as the spirit gives utterance (Luke 11:13; Acts: 1:2-5; Acts 2:4).
God has gifted the believers in the body of Christ to speak in a Holy language we do not know by human means. It is a gift of the Holy Ghost (I Cor 12:10) and therefore is of great help to us. Paul said “Thank God I speak in tongues more than any of you” (I Cor 14:18). Through the gift of tongues, God builds us up (I Con 14:4), enabling us to speak mysteries in the spirit realm (I Cor 14:2) and empowers us to thank and praise Him in the spirit while supplicating before Him in prayer and meditation (I Cor 14:16-17), The gift of tongue is also a sign to the unbelievers (I Cor 14:22).
6. We believe that water baptism is necessary as instructed by Christ Jesus (St John 3:5); however, water baptism alone will not save, but is an outward demonstration that one has had a conversion experience and has accepted Christ as his/her personal Saviour. We believe as given to us by Christ, all should be baptized “In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
7. The Greek verb for baptism is “Baptizo” meaning to dip, immerse, submerge or plunge. The House Of God Saints In Christ, Inc. believes that this very process of immersion gives confirmation to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This ministry also teaches that water baptism is not optional, but essential because the new birth consists of both water and spirit.
8. We believe that man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. the son of Go
A. Conditions to Salvation Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Luke 24:47: John 3:3: Romans 10:13-15 Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11: 3:5-7)
B. Evidences of Salvation The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16), The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24: Titus 2:12).
- We believe, teach, and firmly maintain the spiritual doctrine of justification by faith (Romans 5:1),
- We believe sanctification is an instantaneous definite work of Christ, obtainable by faith on the part of the believers (St John 17:17 Acts 26:18).
- We believe in the second coming of Christ; He shall come from heaven; the Church, His bride, will be caught up to meet Him in the air (I Thessalonians 4:16).
- We believe that miracles are extraordinary visible acts of God’s Divine power. We believe these works of God, which were performed during the beginning of Christianity continues to occur even today where the Word of God is preached, where faith in Christ is exercised and where the Holy Ghost is active in the Gospel (Hebrews 2:3-4).
- We believe that Divine Healing by Faith in God has scriptural support James 5:14), We are encouraged to pray for the sick hands upon them, and anoint them with oil. Prayer, with faith, shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise them up. Testimonies of healings in our church, testify to the fact.
- We believe in The Lord’s Supper, the Holy Communion, symbolizes the Lord’s suffering and death in the place of His people (2 Corinthians 11:23-26). Feet washing too, is practiced in our church. By His example, Jesus showed humility (St. John 13:1-5). This service is held subsequently to the Lord’s Supper; however, its regularity is left to the discretion of the Pastor in charge.
- We believe in marriage with a natural born man and a natural born woman, The word of God instructs us that “Marriage is honorable in all and the bed is undefiled”, and we firmly hold that there are certain relations between the husband (male) and wife (female), which are strictly private according to the Word of God Hebrews (13:4; 1 Corinthians 7:1-5)
The House Of God Saints In Christi, Inc. acknowledges a marriage to be a union between a man and a woman as husband and wife which constitutes the foundation of a family. We do not teach that when a child is born the family starts, or whether that a child should be born into a family. This organization stand firm that marriage was instituted and ordained by God to be a lifelong union between a man and a woman (Gen 1:27; 2:18, 2:24; 2:7-25) and that it is God’s desire that believers of the faith marry within the body of believers (II Corinthians 6: 14-16). This organization does not recognize the spouse as being any other than the natural born opposite sex and will not participate in nor perform any ceremonies of any same sex relationships.
The House Of God Saints In Christ, Inc. does not permit its Ordained Clergymen to perform weddings, funerals, baby christenings, or any other ceremony of the same sex nor should any of its properties be used for the performance in and/or participation in and/or giving of any blessings to the marriage, burial, baby christening or any other ceremony of any union except that between a natural born man and a natural born woman.
If any Clergyman is in violation, he or she will be expelled and license and ordination shall be revoked. He or she will be relieved from all duties immediately.
Our Covenant
We having been chosen by the blessed Spirit of God to become members of His Holy Church, with joy and gladness we enter into this covenant:
- We will watch over one another with brotherly love and kindness, not that we may have whereof to accuse our brother, but that we may with meekness correct each other’s faults (Romans 12:10) (Galatians 6:1-2).
- We will abstain from frivolous conversations, such as foolish talking, gossiping, jesting, and from backbiting and tattling or taking up a reproach against one another (Ephesians 5:4).
- We will heed each other to exhort one another to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called, and with all lowliness and meekness with long-suffering; forbearing one another in love: endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:1-3).
- We will exhort our brother to warn them that are unruly or disorderly to comfort the feeble minded, support the weak, and be patient toward all men: so that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves and to all men (Romans 12:17) (Galatians 6:10).
- We will be kind one 16 another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven us (Ephesians 1:32).
- We will engage the works of mercy; such as visiting the sick, visiting the imprisoned, visiting the distressed and all who may need and will accept our acts of mercy (Matthew 25:35-40),
- We will have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the devil (Ephesians 511), but to keep ourselves by the grace of God (I Peter 1:5) unspotted from the world (James 1:27).
We will keep this Covenant with the help of God, We accept the obligations of this Covenant in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost,
